Some of you may have heard of #GivingTuesday, and some of you may have not. Just as #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday were created, #GivingTuesday was created as a day to give back after the days of consuming. Here is a little information below:
“On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving.
Anyone, anywhere can get involved in #GivingTuesday and give back in a way that is meaningful to them. From fundraising to volunteering to pro bono service, #GivingTuesday is a great way to engage your community and to become a part of a larger worldwide movement that promotes generosity.”
Free2Fly has decided to join in on the fun. As we have mentioned before, our goal is to help young women to freely express their creativity and embrace their individuality while setting goals to reach their full potential. During this time of giving, all funds will be geared towards our Soar! 8week Program taking place the first quarter of 2017. Our goal is to travel to our nations capital, Washington DC to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture, so our girls will be able to “explore” and learn a piece of America’s history. Your donations during this time will sow into the lives of these young women in ways that will be revealed to us all in the future. We are certain that the seeds planted will be positive and will uplift the generations to follow.
